Last week, one of the two assignments we had was to take an ordinary subject -either a chair, cup, or shoes- and spend at least an hour photographing it, taking a minimum of 100 frames and coming up with pictures that were all clearly different and used various focal lengths, DOFs, etc. Because I had to shoot this at night, I didn't have the best lighting, but here are most of my pictures.

Raindrops
Pictures taken after a heavy rain yesterday.
I had to crop this picture, because my lens wouldn't let me get close enough.

Project 2
This past two weeks was spent working on our second project of the year. This time, instead of a photo story, we had to pick a subject and show it in three different settings that display what we've been covering recently. The first one had to use complementary colors, the second had to use supporting elements, and the third had to be in black and white. Below are my submissions, as well as some other photos from the project.

An ENORMOUS thank you goes to my friend Madison, who patiently sat there in freezing cold weather and let me photograph her.
The pictures of the hands were actually really hard to take, because the hands are mine. Trying to direct other people just wasn't getting me the results I needed, so I used a tripod and shutter release cable to get the shots.

Color Theory & Food Challenge
Okay, well. Sadly, I don't have the time to sit here and post a bunch of pictures and explanations, so I'm just going to upload the pictures that I submitted for the past two academic weeks (not counting winter break).
Color theory: we had to take one picture that showed complementary colors and one that showed analogous colors.
And this past week we had to take a picture of food for a photo challenge. We are also working on Project 2, which is why the assignment was so simple.

Blessing in Disguise
Apologies for not uploading this earlier :/. My life has been absolutely insane, and I haven't had a chance to sit down and type up another post.
Last week, we had to fill out a concept ideas sheet that followed the theme 'a blessing in disguise', and then take the picture that we had just detailed. I got mixed up about the assignment, and ended up photographing the wrong thing...long story. Between that and other complications, I nearly wasn't able to do the assignment. In the end, I snapped some pictures of my little brother and picked one for the assignment, but I really wasn't happy with it.
Anyway, my blessing in disguise idea was school, namely math, because even though you may not enjoy it, it is a necessity in life. My blessing picture was of Nate doing his math.

...and this is a picture from a different shoot.
We also got the first real snow in about three years! 16" overnight :D. The only bad thing is that the snow is higher than both our dog and chickens, so we have five very unhappy individuals.
I plopped our poor little dog in the snow to see how far she'd sink in...not too bad, considering that the snow was higher than her ears :).
You can't see it too well, but she's caked in snow here.
